The Hang Out

This is a shout out to all the "Young, Gifted and trying to Hang Out with God"

to slow up and chill for a minute. Relax and kick it with those who are of the same

mind, those who are young, yet wise enough to know that time is life and like sand

in an hour glass, it waits for no one. Did you catch that?

Let me reboot and come at you again; when we waste our time, we waste our lives.

In fact we better get it right the first time because we don't get a second chance.

Ecclesiastes 12:1 says in reference to the priorities of life:

Remember your Creator in the days of your youth,
before the days of trouble come and the years approach when you will say,
“I find no pleasure in them”—

It then goes on to say in verses 6 and 7:

Remember him—before the silver cord is severed, and the golden bowl is broken;
before the pitcher is shattered at the spring, and the wheel broken at the well,
and the dust returns to the ground it came from,
and the spirit returns to God who gave it.

And here in verses 13 and 14 is the point about getting life right:

13 Now all has been heard; here is the conclusion of the matter:
Fear God and keep his commandments, for this is the duty of all mankind.
14 For God will bring every deed into judgment, including every hidden thing,
whether it is good or evil.

There I go again, trying to make you think. It really ain't me-it's the
Word of God.

God's words are powerful. God's Words are life and light, knowledge and truth,
life and death. God's words shake things up, in fact God's words always effect positive

change. God's words
are the real basis for the the urban term "Word Up."

I say that because God's words are profitable, Powerful and elevating.

God's word creates upward mobility for those who will not only listen to them but obey them .

That's the challenge that we all face whenever we encounter God's word: God's word will

almost always go against the grain, against the common or popular culture of the times.

If you decide to follow God's Word, then you're going to have to make the

determined decision to swim against the current.

You're going to have to learn to oftentimes stand alone

in opposition to the many. Now that ain't easy but it's worth it.

    Psalm 119: 97-104 says:

97 Oh, how I love your law!

I meditate on it all day long.
98 Your commands are always with me
and make me wiser than my enemies.
99 I have more insight than all my teachers,
for I meditate on your statutes.
100 I have more understanding than the elders,
    for I obey your precepts.
101 I have kept my feet from every evil path
so that I might obey your word.
102 I have not departed from your laws,
for you yourself have taught me.
103 How sweet are your words to my taste,
sweeter than honey to my mouth!
104 I gain understanding from your precepts;
therefore I hate every wrong path.

Are you guys still out there-are you still with me? Cool!

Before we go any further, i've got a few people here

that want to shout at you for a minute.

How are you feeling about yourselves right now?

Are you good, are you feeling good about who you are in Christ?

Yeah, that's what I like to see because the Jesus in me loves the Jesus in you.
God wants you as part of the "Young, Gifted and trying to Hang Out with Christ Crowd"
to know without a doubt who you are and whose you are.

Whenever you don't know who you are or doubt what you are in Christ
Satan the enemy of our souls seeks to mis-identify you with his false labels and believe
me, he knows how to change our names and switch our identities.

He does this thru the media and the cultural pressures that constantly surround
us on a daily basis.
So my advice to you is: Don't believe the hype; don't answer, respond to, or validate
by your actions the false names or claims that the world and
ultimately Satan are constantly trying to attach to you.

Here are a few examples of their efforts:

"A dangerous, menacing black man"

"A gang of up to no good inner-city youth"

"A Trick, B_tch, Hoe, Side Piece, my baby's moma"

II Corinthians 6: 18 reads as follows:

And, "I will be a Father to you, and you will be my sons and daughters,
says the Lord Almighty."

So What are you all waiting for? It's time to come out of the shadows

And into His marvelous light

Don't be shy, don't be afraid and don't put it off:
Why, because Jesus is waiting and calling for you.
